Things You'll Need:
- Bathing suit
- Goggles
-
Step 1
Breast stroke a couple of laps across the pool. Have your head down in the water and turn your head to the side for air. Your arms should stroke the water like paddles while your legs should have a frog kicking movement.
-
Step 2
Butterfly stroke a couple of laps across the pool. Your legs should be doing a dolphin like kick while your arms perform a windmill-like movement. The head is under the water during this stroke. The butterfly stoke requires the most amount of energy out of all of the strokes.
-
Step 3
Run a couple laps across the pool. Keep your butt muscles tight and lift your knees as high as they can go.
-
Step 4
Perform high kicks underwater. Stand up straight and kick one leg out as far as it will go. Repeat with opposite leg.
-
Step 5
Swim out to the deeper part of the pool and tread water for a few minutes. Alternate moving your legs up and down and side to side.
-
Step 6
Walk around the perimeter of the pool to cool down. Do not use your arms to pull yourself by the edge of the pool.
