How to remove certain results from google

When searching on google.com, many times you want to remove certain things. For example, not wanting red cars to show up.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with an internet connection
  1. Step 1

    First step is to fire up your pc and open up a web browser.

  2. Step 2

    Go to www.google.com.

  3. Step 3
    Notice the word Pixar which I don't want to see again (educational purposes only; I like Pixar's work).

    On the search box type anything you want. For sakes of an illustration, I will use the word cars.

    Notice on the figure attached that the word Pixar shows up. I will target this word to be removed from my future searches.

  4. Step 4
    Notice that no more Pixar links show up.

    I now want to remove the word Pixar; then the new search string will be as follows "cars -Pixar". Typing everything inside the quotes will now search for cars again, but remove any link that includes the word Pixar.

    See the attached image.

    You can continue to add things you do not want by just adding them in series (for example, cars -Pixar -used -parts).

Tips & Warnings
  • You can go to the following link for more operators: http://www.google.com/help/operators.html
  • Just be careful not to misspell anything since it is sensitive
