Internships provide applicable work experience and can turn into a full-time job after college. Here are 5 ways to turn an internship into a full-time position.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first step is to actually obtain an internship! Seek an internship opportunity in a field related to your major and career goals. Prepare for the interview and make a good first impression with the company.

  2. Step 2

Work hard once you get that internship! Finish assignments on time or early. It is important to make sure that you show employers how much of an asset you are. Show your employer that you are dependable.

  3. Step 3

Be open-minded! Listen to other people's ideas and look for alternative solutions to work problems. Innovation and creativity are encouraged in many work environments. Be flexible with tasks and hours.

  4. Step 4

Assimilate into the company culture. Fit in with the employees. Companies look for employees who have similar values and work ethics. Observation and research will help you assimilate.

  5. Step 5

Exceed all expectations! Never do the bare minimum. Companies hire people who go above and beyond!
