Rate: (4 Ratings)

Summertime lends itself perfectly to a watermelon feast fundraiser. Unique fundraisers usually raise up more money for your cause, as do those where the donators get something wonderful in return for their investment in you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Watermelons
  • Napkins
  • A knife (and adult) to cut the watermelons
  • A box or jar for donations
Step1
Announce the watermelon feast a week or so before the event.
Step2
Put the watermelons in a kiddie pool filled with ice to keep it cool.
Step3
Cut large slices of watermelon. You want your customers to feel they are getting a bargain.
Step4
Combine this event with other events for even more fun. Bake sales, sporting events, play music, have a raffle, etc.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have a garbage can handy for the watermelon rinds and a separate can for the paper garbage. When the event is done, place the rinds in a compost pile or donate to someone with livestock such as pigs or chickens that may enjoy the left over feast.
  • Don't allow young children to cut the watermelon slices.
