Seeing a Broadway show is a thrilling experience, but it can be quite costly. However, if you are willing to wait in line and are flexible about what shows you want to see, you can still get in at a discounted price.

1. There are 3 main ways to approach buying discount broadway tickets. The first option is to wait in line at the TKTS booth in New York City. They offer tickets to most of the Broadway and off-Broadway shows for same-day performances at a 25 to 50 percent discount. There are 2 locations: 1 in Times Square and 1 downtown at South Street Seaport.

2. You may be able to purchase discount tickets at the box office of the theater as well. These tickets can be standing room only tickets, where you stand in the back of the orchestra for the whole show. Some theater box offices offer discount tickets, an hour before the show, called Rush tickets to students and seniors with a valid I.D.

3. There are also several discount Broadway ticket web sites to check out including Broadway.com. This is your best bet if you want to order tickets that are not for the day of the show.
