How to Do a Horizontal Palm Strike

Skilled martial artists learn every motion and technique that can be used to combat violent threats. The hand can be transformed into a variety of different forms useful in defending oneself.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A physician's approval
  1. Step 1

    Stand with your feet facing to the side and look directly at your target.

  2. Step 2

    Bend your hand backward so that your palm heel is protruding.

  3. Step 3

    Bend the first two digits of your fingers, but keep the digit closest to your knuckles straight. Bend your thumb.

  4. Step 4

    Extend your hand in an arching motion. Hit your target with the heel of your hand. This technique is like a combination of a palm heel strike and a hook.

Tips & Warnings
  • Turn your shoulder sharply while executing this technique in order to maximize power
  • Keep your other hand in front of you for defense or additional attacks
