Things You'll Need:
- Beads of your choice
- Beading wire
- Clasp
- Spacers
- Scissors
- Crimp beades
-
Step 1
Browse through handmade jewelry project books, jewelry magazines, or look online to find design inspirations. Try putting different kinds of beads and colors together to come up with a design that will be personal for you, or for someone special if it will be a gift. Cut out some of your favorite pictures or take snapshots of your favorite color combinations so that you can look at them while creating your project.
-
Step 2
Gather some of your favorite designed or colored beads. Decide if the bracelet will be a stretch bracelet or have a clasp. Measure the length of your wrist so that you will know how much stringing material you will need and how many beads you will need to fit around it.
-
Step 3
Purchase the materials that you will need to create your bracelet. Buy a clasp, (if it is a clasped bracelet), beads, beading wire or stretch string. Jewelry accessories and tools can usually be purchased at area craft stores, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or at retail chains such at Wal-Mart.
-
Step 4
Begin stringing your beads onto your string once you have them arranged the way that you want. Include any spacer beads or any other accessories that catch your eye. Handmade jewelry projects can be quite personal, and there is no right or wrong way to create one.
-
Step 5
Finish off your bracelet with crimp beads to hold the design. If it is a stretch bracelet, secure your string and tie it off in a knot. If it needs a clasp, allow enough extra string to tie your clasp and crimp it. Make sure that you can secure it comfortably around your wrist. Create earrings or a necklace to match!
