Apple TVs allow users to sync their iTunes library to their TV. This How To describes the basics in regards to adding movies to that library and syncing them to the Apple TV. Just pick your favorite DVD and get ready to have it stored on your Apple TV forever!

Things You’ll Need:

  • A DVD of your choice
  • Computer with iTunes
  • Apple TV
  • Wireless Internet

How to Put Movies on an Apple TV

Step1
Go to the Web site www.handbrake.fr and download the Handbrake software.
Step2
Install the software on your computer and open it so that it is ready to run.
Step3
Put a DVD of your choosing into the computer.
Step4
Select the DVD source on the Handbrake menu.
Step5
Click on the "Apple TV" icon on the right-side menu of the Handbrake window.
Step6
Allow the DVD to convert to the proper format (it may take up to two hours).
Step7
Open iTunes and add the new converted movie file into the library.
Step8
Sync to your Apple TV and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that you have a strong wireless Internet signal as the Apple TV has to sync with your iTunes account via the Internet.
  • Make sure to not turn off the Apple TV while it is syncing.
