Not Hate Getting Attention
Not Hate Getting Attention

Do you get so embarrassed when someone simply gives you attention? Does a compliment meant to make you feel good about yourself give you the jitters? Well, then you've stumbled upon the right article.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    # Find the positive side.Think about the saying, and try to find the positive side. If you're given a compliment say thanks even if the attention makes you nervous. Remember that compliments are meant to make you feel good about yourself, not nervous.
    # Don't be shy. People may be offended because they think that you just don't want to talk to them. If you are a very shy person try to reach out and compliment someone who likes the attention. Who knows, you might even learn to like attention from others.

  2. Step 2

    # Practice at home. Your parents would be happy to give you attention or, if they're busy find a close friend that you trust to give you the attention you deserve.
    # Avoid attention if you have to. If you just can't get over being shy avoid getting attention in the first place. If you don't like attention don't draw attention to yourself

  3. Step 3

Overcome your nervousness. At sometime in your life you will receive attention so, when speaking, speak in a confident voice that tells people "I'm ready to be heard." and remind yourself that it's only attention.

Tips & Warnings
  • Learn to not be shy, you'll feel better about yourself.
  • Stay cool, the whole world isn't watching you.
  • Remember to not only receive attention, but give attention to those who deserve it or people who are having a bad day.
  • Never want attention too badly, then you will look like a wannabee.
  • There are good kinds of attention and there are bad kinds of attention. If you feel like you're being bullied or harassed, this is a bad kind of attention and it should be hated. If you are being bullied tell an adult you trust and trust your instincts. If no one listens keep telling people until someone does.
