Not Be a Poser
Not Be a Poser

No one wants to be labeled as a "poser." The best way to avoid this fate is to focus on yourself, and maintain a good self image.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    # Don't try to look like a celebrity.
    # Avoid doing things just because everyone else is doing them. If something interests you, learn about it, and truly involve yourself in it.

  2. Step 2

    # Be honest about your opinions and interests. Being called a "poser" is really synonymous with being called a "liar." People can tell if you are making up your involvements and interests.
    # Be committed when you try something new. Often times when a person flits from one hobby to another it can appear to others that they are "posers." Make sure to give a new hobby a chance before quitting or moving on to something new.

  3. Step 3

Remember, the most important thing is to be true to yourself. Sometimes you need to ignore insults and be confident in your decisions. As long as it makes you happy, its a good decision.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are happy with yourself you will make more friends.
  • If someone does call you a poser, ask them what they mean, and defend your choices.
  • Utilize the internet to learn about something you think could be interesting but you know little about.
  • Always know who you are, never try to be someone your not, it's shocking how people will respond to the "real" you.
  • Avoid lying about hobbies and interests, when you don't know something, admit it!
  • Never talk about a topic you don't know anything thing about this will just make you look like more of a poser.
