How to Have Fun While Babysitting
Babysitting is a job suited well for anyone who enjoys having fun while playing with children. Each child is unique, liking different games, toys or sports. With a little information about each child, you and the children you babysit can have a wonderful time together. Having fun should be your goal every time you babysit a child. You will enjoy it and the parents will keep asking you back again and again.

1
Interview each parent prior to babysitting the child. Ask what the child likes and dislikes (also ask for any important medical information). Find out what games each child likes to play, whether the child enjoys playing indoors or outdoors and if neighborhood children are allowed to come over and play as well.

2
Use what you've learned about the child to plan games and activities you enjoyed as a child. If you enjoyed dressing up and the child is into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, try to find a few items around the house that can help you dress up as an authentic character from the cartoon. Having activities that you both enjoy will make babysitting that much more fun.

Bring a bag full of toys that you enjoyed playing with as a child or that you bought at a garage sale. This will ensure that you have a few items that you enjoy as well as give the child a new toy to play with, limiting boredom with the child's own toys.

Tips & Warnings
Throw a dance or pajama party for the children you are babysitting. If it's close to bedtime, put them in their pajamas to be "dressed" for the party. Play fun music to dance to and see who can create the most humorous dance. This is a good way to use up the kids' energy, have fun and easily get them dressed for bed.
Just because you find an activity fun does not mean that the child will. Be willing to quickly switch gears to a new activity if the child does not enjoy what you are doing.
