Pack for a Move
Pack for a Move

Packing up every single item you own and preparing to move is a huge task. This list of tips will make the job of packing and moving a little less stressful.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Boxes
  • Masking Tape
  • Labels
  • Marker
  • Ziploc bags - all sizes
  • Zip ties
  • Packing tape
  • Garbage bags
  1. Step 1

Use LABELS or masking tape and a marker to mark every single box and bag with its contents. It is also helpful to mark where the box belongs. By doing so, the movers can carry all of the "kitchen" boxes into the kitchen and save you time when unpacking.

  2. Step 2

ZIPLOC BAGS of all sizes are very handy when moving. They are perfect for grouping like articles, little odds and ends, screws for the table, and so forth. Label each ziploc bag so you remember what the contents are needed for later.

  3. Step 3

Large GARBAGE BAGS are essential for packing bulky items, such as bedding. Remember to label each bag.

  4. Step 4

Use ZIP TIES to keep cables and cords in order. Be sure to label all cables. This will save you so much time when hooking up the computer, television, and other electronics.

Tips & Warnings
  • Moving allows you the opportunity to clean out and get rid of anything you no longer want or don't use.
  • You may want to plan a moving sale to make a little extra cash from those unwanted items.
  • Take packing one step at a time. If you break the big job down into many small jobs, it will be a lot easier to manage.
