If you are bothered by allergies, you are not alone. It’s estimated that over 50 million Americans have some form of allergy whether it’s a stuffy nose, nasal congestion, or post nasal drip. Here is a quick and easy way to clear your nasal passages and ease your symptoms.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Warm water
  • Salt
  • Squeeze bottle

Step1
Fill an eight ounce squeeze bottle with warm tap water. Add a fourth of a teaspoon of salt. Put the top back on the bottle and shake the bottle lightly to mix the salt into the water.
Step2
Blow and clean out your nose. This will get the mucous out of the way so that you can get the solution where it needs to go in order to clear your nasal passages.
Step3
Stand over a sink, lean forward, and pour half of the solution into one nostril. The solution will then flow out of the other nostril. While doing this, open your mouth and make a “C” sound. This will keep the solution from coming out of your mouth. Repeat these steps with your other nostril.
Step4
Check to see if your symptoms have improved. Mild symptoms will often clear up right away. Some people may need medicine in addition to this method.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also put the solution into your nose using a suction, neti-pot or turkey baster.
