Reading books is fun, and if you read often, you may forget what you've read in the past. Recording the book titles into a journal is a fun way to keep track of what you have read.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • white glue
  • spiral notebook with cardboard cover
  • old magazines, old book club order forms
  • scissors
  • clear contac paper

Step1
Cut pictures of books from old magazines, newspapers, and old book club order forms.
Step2
Glue them, in a collage form, onto the front cover of an inexpensive spiral notebook. Let dry.
Step3
Measure clear contac paper to the size of your notebook cover, and carefully place over your collage.
Step4
Start recording the books you have read.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also attach the pictures of books, to your notebook cover, with decoupage, and eliminate the contac paper.
  • Leave your journal where all family members can view it. This encourages your children to read and record as well.
  • Make a page in your "book" journal for books you want to read in the future
  • Use this idea to make travel, garden, cooking, prayer journals and more, by cutting out pictures to fit the theme of the journal.
  • Back to school sales are a great time to buy spiral notebooks at extremely low prices.
  • As always, if children are helping, use caution with glue products and sharp scissors.
