Many people still receive paper bills in the mail. While this is an easy way to remember when you have to pay bills, it's not good for the environment. There are plenty of ways to take care of your bills other than using the mail. Learn how to stop receiving paper bills in the mail.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Contact the companies that you receive bills from and make sure that you can choose a different billing option other than paper bills. You can normally achieve this by contacting customer service or logging onto that company's website.
Step2
Choose an email address to receive email bill alerts. Since you are choosing to no longer receive paper bills in the mail, your monthly bills will now be sent to a primary email address. You want to make sure to choose an email address that you actively use.
Step3
Log onto the websites of stores and companies that send you monthly bills. Using a credit or debit card or your checking account and routing numbers, you can automatically have the money taken from your bank account every month in order to pay your bills. If you choose direct withdrawal to pay your bills, you'll have to keep track of your back account thoroughly to ensure that you never overdraw your account.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that you are still able to view the paper bills online. This way, you will always be aware of how much money you owe these companies and why you owe that particular amount.
  • Assign a specific folder in your email account just for bills. This way, you can better keep track of your bills without them getting mixed into your other emails.
