You don’t have to wait until summer to sport a tan. You can have one year round, without the sun! A safe and efficient way to achieve such glowing skin is to get a spray tan. That’s having a professional technician evenly spray your entire body with color while you’re standing up. It’s a quick and painless process to obtain the summer sun year round without all the setbacks.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shower
  • Clean, scrubbed skin
  • Skin exfoliator
  • Razor
  • Body moisturizer
  1. Step 1

In order to achieve a good spray tan, your skin needs to be smooth. Take a shower and exfoliate your skin with a mild exfoliant to remove dead skin layer.

  2. Step 2

Shave your legs and underarms. The smoother and clearer the skin, the more readily the spray tan will take to your skin and last.

  3. Step 3

Apply moisturizer to your body and face to smooth over the skin.

  4. Step 4

Be sure not to wear light or white colored clothing to the tanning session (so as not to stain your light colored clothes with color).

  5. Step 5

When you’re at the salon, take off all your clothes and wear the disposable panty that is given to you.

  6. Step 6

The technician will then stand either behind you or in front of you and start spraying tanning solution (“color”) evenly all over your body, not missing a crevice.

  7. Step 7

Once the technician has fully sprayed your entire body down to your feet and hands (not the palms of course, because you don’t normally tan on your palms!), you need to marinate for 15 minutes.

  8. Step 8

Use the hair dryer that is given to you to help dry the color. The heat from the dryer will help set the color deeper into your skin and enhance the depth of the tan.

  9. Step 9

After 15 minutes, you can put your clothes back on. Don’t shower afterwards for at least 24 hours (the longer, the better for the color to last), so the tan can soak into your skin.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear loose-fitting clothes so as not to chafe away any of the tan.
