Purchase Swarovski crystals by bulk, and not the ones on string. Swarovski crystals that are sold on string will not be genuine crystals. Bulk packages are usually sold in 10 gross and are sealed in quality envelopes. It should be branded with the name, "Crystalized."

Check to see that the Swarovski crystals have been created in Austria. Most Swarovski crystals that are crafted in Austria are set to the highest quality standards.

Decide on which size and what kind of Swarovski crystal you want to purchase. There are several kinds of crystals. Choose from faceted bicone, roundelle, helix, rounded bicone, cube and several others. Swarovski crystals come in several different sizes as well. Some are as small as 2.5 mm, and others can be as large as 10 mm.

Look inside the Swarovski crystal to see if there are any bubbles. If you see bubbles inside the crystal, it is not a genuine crystal. The facets should all be facing in several different directions. It will almost appear 3-D to the eye.

Compare your Swarovski crystals with other crystals and beads. Their luster should outshine any other jewelry compounds that you have. Swarovski crystals are crafted with a special high-quality glass compound.

Contact the seller if you feel that you have been sold fake Swarovski crystals. If they do not meet the standards listed above, then it is possible that you have bought from an imposter. Return your purchase and request your money back.
