Minimize the Health Hazards from Cell Phones

The increased use of cell phones has brought about serious concerns regarding the probable health hazards. This is because mobile phones use electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range. Depending on how close the cell phone antenna is to your head, between 20% and 60% of the radiation emitted by your cell phone is transferred into your head. Scientific and medical communities have suggested that health effects (e.g. cancer) are very likely to be caused by cellular phones or their base stations. This articles present some practical approached for minimization of these hazardous effects.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Minimize the duration of use, since certain effects of electrmagnetic radiation (e.g. thermal effects on brain) are accumulative.

  2. Step 2

Use hands-free to decrease the radiation to the head.

  3. Step 3

Keep the cell phone away from the body.

  4. Step 4

Do not telephone in a car without an external antenna.

  5. Step 5

Limit the use of cell phones by at-risk population (such as children).

  6. Step 6

Avoid living near the base stations antennas which are certainly more hazardous than cell phones.

  7. Step 7

Never use a cell phone when a conventional phone is available.
