Step 1
Place the board between two sturdy platforms (like two cinder blocks) so that it's balancing on the edges with open space in the middle. Make sure the grain of the board runs parallel to the placement of the blocks.

Stand near the blocks and over the board. Your distance from the board should be equal to the length of your shoulders. Spread your legs into a casual walking stance.

Bend your knees and drop your weight so it is centered around your hips. Make sure you are low enough so that your extended fist will go completely through the board.

Breathe in and out just before preparing to attempt the break. The speed of your movement should be at its peak right after you exhale, and the speed of your fist is important.

Raise your fist up to your armpit, while you look directly at the center of the board. Position your fist so the thumb is on the topside, but you will turn it 180 degrees just as you begin the downward thrust.

Step 6
Imagine that you are aiming for the floor, not the board. This assures that you have the velocity needed to go through the board.

Step 7
Drive your fist through the board in one quick straight shot. Position your extended arm so that your fist's first two knuckles are aligned with your wrist, elbow and shoulder.
