Creating an Origami Vulture is a bit tricky, but follow these directions and soon you'll be making them to show to your friends, give as gifts or add to your menagerie of Origami creations.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Origami paper
  1. Step 1

Create an Origami vulture by first placing your square of Origami paper color-side down and fold it diagonally to make a triangle. Fold the triangle in half, and then take the tip of it and fold it into the middle of your triangle. Repeat this with the other tip of your triangle.

  2. Step 2

Rotate your paper until it shaped like a diamond in front of you, then thin down both sides of the top tip of your paper and bring it down. Repeat this for the back, and then bring the top flap of your paper forward into the middle.

  3. Step 3

Pull your triangle flap upwards and towards the left while also folding the corner of your triangle to the center line. Fold and unfold what you've done to seal the creases and then fold in the opposite direction or reverse fold until the point is inside (about halfway down) the model of your Origami vulture.

  4. Step 4

Reverse fold this area and then repeat this same step for the behind of your vulture until you have two folded points facing away from each other. Fold the top part of your structure down into the part that you have just folded. Do a reverse fold of this and the repeat this step for the back of your bird.

  5. Step 5

Fold this same area up into a point, and repeat this again for the back. Now fold backwards from this point and rotate your newly formed fold by a forty-five degree angle. Reverse fold this part down and then bend the crease down this point until you form the head of your vulture.

  6. Step 6

Bend down the beak from this point to complete the head. Now fold the leg of your bird upwards a bit, and then bend this backwards a bit to form the foot. Your Origami vulture is now complete.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have plenty of Origami paper on hand because this is a project that is going to take some time to learn, so don't get upset if you don't master it immediately.
