How to Reach Across Pool Screen Enclosure

Pool screen enclosures keep dirt and larger debris from getting into your pool and possibly clogging up your filter. Anytime you're on a ladder and moving around, you must take extra care to avoid falling and injuring yourself. Here is how you can reach across a pool screen enclosure carefully.

Things You'll Need:

• Pool brush
• Ladder

1. Move the pool brush to the area of the screen enclosure that you plan on working on next. Do this before you get down from the ladder so you don't have to reach across the top of the enclosure and risk falling.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   

2. Climb down the ladder. Use the edge of the top of the enclosure to steady yourself, but do not use it for support.

3. Carry the ladder over to the next section you plan on cleaning. Place the ladder within reach of where you placed the pool brush on the top of the enclosure.

4. Check to make sure the ladder is on flat ground so it doesn't rock back and forth. You also need to make sure each side hinge is in the straight and locked position.

5. Begin cleaning the next section. Now that the ladder is steady and the pool brush is in position, begin brushing off the next section of the pool screen enclosure.

Tips & Warnings

• Always test the ladder for steadiness. Do so by standing on the first step with your full weight. Sometimes the ground below is soft and the ladder sinks. If this happens, move the ladder to more solid ground.
• Never lean to reach across a pool screen enclosure when on a ladder. The ladder becomes unstable and you will end up falling.
