Clean your front porch regularly to maintain a welcome appearance to your home. For an extra deep cleaning use a pressure washer. The pressure washer will remove the dirt and grime from outdoor elements that build up over time. Rejuvenate your front porch with an annual pressure washer cleaning.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Remove all items from your porch. Things such as chairs, flowerpots and mats will be in the way of the cleaning. These items also leave stains behind. You can clean away the unsightly marks.

  2. Step 2

Sweep away the large debris so that the pressure washer cleans the porch without spraying you with trash items from your front porch.

  3. Step 3

Add detergent solution for bad staining, however the strong pressure of the water lifts away ordinary grime without the need for chemicals.

  4. Step 4

Turn the pressure washer on with the nozzle facing the ground in front of the door. You will want to begin here and move out with your back to the door. The grade of the porch runs the water away from the house.

  5. Step 5

Work from top to bottom. Start with the higher areas and work down. You can use the pressure washer to clean the columns or posts on the porch.

  6. Step 6

Hold the pressure washer nozzle about 12 inches from the surface that you are cleaning. Move closer when you see that the area needs the extra force. Move the nozzle slowly across the surface in a sweeping motion.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid holding the nozzle in any location for too long. The pressure of the water can damage soft surfaces, including wood.
  • Pressure washers are a power tool. Take the necessary safety precautions. Never point the nozzle directly at an individual.
