Organize Your Child's Room

Follow these simple tips to get your child's room organized.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shelving
  • Hooks
  • Cork Board
  • Bins
  1. Step 1

FURNITURE is essential. Choose pieces with built in drawers for storage such as a desk.

  2. Step 2

CLOSETS are probably the most useful place to organize your child's belongings. Shelves can be used to store toys, games and the favorite sleeping bag. Use of hanging organizers can make the most of storage space in the closet. They are perfect for storing sweaters, shoes and accessories.

  3. Step 3

SHELVING can be installed around the perimeter of the room 12" to 24" below the ceiling. This will create yards of space for trophies, knick knacks, photo frames and stuffed animals.

  4. Step 4

HOOKS make a great home for backpacks, book bags and coats.

  5. Step 5

CORK BOARDS come in all shapes and sizes. Find one that suits the available space and use to display your child's favorite artwork and notes.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your child is small, plan from the floor up. Hang clothes low. Enlist their help in putting their things away each day.
