Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wooden plank
  • Four rubber small tires.
  • Steering system and wheel
  • Roll cage rubber
  • Metal base frame
  1. Step 1

Start by making some designs and blueprints of how you want your drag go kart to look like and function. Whether you want a sporty shape or a regular box shape, you can create it to be your very own.

  2. Step 2

Go to an auto parts store and buy a CBR600RR engine. You can also buy go kart parts such as a steering wheel, tires and engines online at Gokartracing.com. Buy a butterfly steering wheel for your drag go kart as they work the best.

  3. Step 3

Buy the wheels and wooden plank for your go kart. Most likely they will be smaller wheels and make sure they are of a secure strong material such as rubber. Find some round tubing which you will use for the frame and roll cage.

  4. Step 4

Buy a fully functional go kart steering system with a partly extended steering stem. Attach the steering wheel to your base frame by welding the metal together. Use protective goggles and gloves at all times. Attach the four rubber wheels at each end of the base frame.

  5. Step 5

Place the wooden plank in the base of the go kart frame and build up the cage on top of it. You can find some great tips on how to build a go kart at diygokarts.com. Get some of your friends to join you while painting and building the go kart.

  6. Step 6

Keep your go kart in functioning order. When you are not using it make sure you turn over the engine every now and then. Make sure it has the right amount of oil as well.
