If you work with your hands a lot, then you may get rough, dry skin on the tips of your fingers. Left untreated, the skin can crack and blister. Take steps to moisturize your fingertips and keep your hands soft.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Keep your fingers dry. Many people mistakenly think washing your hands often will help moisturize your fingers and hands. It's actually counterproductive and causes the skin to get even drier.
Step2
Make your environment friendly. To naturally moisturize your fingers, you should avoid dry climates. Use a humidifier to keep moisture in the air to prevent yur fingertips from getting too dry.
Step3
Place your fingertips in a mineral oil soak. Mix warm water and bath oil in a small basin. Keep your fingertips in the solution for several minutes before gently patting away any excess water.
Step4
Apply a moisturizing hand lotion. You can use a product designed for extra dry skin. Rub the cream into your fingertips. Let it sit for a few minutes and then reapply the cream to the fingers.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you must wash your hands often; you should consider washing only your palms and avoid the more delicate fingertip area.
  • If you don't have any moisturizing products to use on your fingertips at home, you can use vegetable shortening. Simply rub a small amount on the tips of your fingers.
