How to Choose a Language in Trillian

When you download Trillian 2.0 instant messenger, you automatically download several language packs. If you want to view Trillian in a language other than English, you will need to choose this from the Trillian preferences. This way Trillian will access those language packs and apply them the next time you start the instant messenger. Follow the steps below to choose a language in Trillian.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Trillian 2.0

Step1
Start Trillian 2.0 instant messenger, and wait until it loads on the desktop. You will see the Trillian icon appear in the system tray, indicating it is loaded and ready to use.
Step2
Double-click on the Trillian icon in the system tray in the lower right corner of your computer screen. Trillian will load onto the desktop at this point.
Step3
Choose the "Options" menu, and click on "Preferences" to open the "Preferences" window. This window allows you to set and change all the settings related to your Trillian account.
Step4
Click "Languages" on the left side of the "Preferences" dialog box under the "General" category. The language settings will be displayed on the right side of the Trillian screen.
Step5
Select a language from the drop-down "Current Language" list in the "Choose a language" section. By default, the language is set to English.
Step6
Set any other additional settings that may appear in the "Preferences" dialog box depending on what language you have chosen.
Step7
Use the "OK" button to close the "Preferences" dialog box and return to Trillian instant messenger. You will need to restart Trillian in order to change the language you have just chosen.
