Weight Watchers is one way to help you reach your ideal weight. The plan uses a point system for foods to calculate the amount of food you can eat per day. The Flex Point system gives you additional points to use as you want every week. While tracking points may seem daunting at first, use Excel and a few simple formulas to help.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Excel
  • Weight Watchers Point Range
Step1
Open a new Excel worksheet. Have the daily point breakdown by current weight range and the amount of flex points you will allow yourself to use per week written down. Weight Watchers online and in-person meetings help you determine your daily point allowance.
Step2
Input the days of the week and the corresponding date in column A. Select all of column A and format the cells to show the day and date using the "Format Cell" option. Rename your current worksheet to the current month by right-clicking on the worksheet tab and selecting the "Rename" option.
Step3
Create headings for your three main meals and two snacks across columns B through F. This allows you to track individual meal points, instead of daily points, to see where you can improve your food choices.
Step4
Title column G "Total Points." Copy the formula =SUM(X,Z) into column G for every date in column A. Replace X and Z by dragging your mouse across the cells where you will input your points per meal or snack value.
Step5
Determine when you want your week to start. Starting your week to coincide with your weigh-in date might be the most helpful, but you can start your week whenever you like. The purpose of this is to track when your flex point allowance will reset.
Step6
Call column H "Flex Points Used." When you use flex points, input that number in the corresponding cell so you see how many you used per day.
Step7
Add the formula =SUM(X:Z) to the last cell of the week. Replace X and Z by dragging your mouse down the cells that include the flex points used so it will track your total for the week.
Step8
Enter your daily points. Use the worksheet to track daily points and flex points and stick to your plan.
