Putting prodigy, Michelle Wie began playing golf when she was just four years old, and by age ten, had become the youngest golfer in history to qualify to play in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. Michelle Wie has since become a driving force in the golf world, and continues to take command of the course. You too can get a Wie bit of Michelle's technique by following her techniques.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Lift weights. Although Michelle's distance capabilities come more from her technique than her strength, she still lifts weights to keep her athletic physique and maintain a competitive edge on the green.
Step2
Grip your club with an interlock grip instead of an overlap grip. Both Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus have also relied on this technique, which requires that your hands forms a "V" shape with your thumbs and forefingers pointed midway between your chin and right shoulder. This ensures the club is aligned on your backswing and no hand adjustments are necessary on the downswing.
Step3
Keep a closed stance. This requires you to drop your right foot back slightly further behind the target line than your left foot. A closed stance allows you to swing the club toward an inside path on your backswing, and promotes an active forearm release on your downswing.
Step4
Maintain a "ready position." Bend your knees slightly so that your kneecaps are directly above the balls of you feet, and bent forward from your hips. You should position your rear slightly behind the backs of your heels.
Step5
Position your head behind the ball. This enables your whole body to rotate, and deliver Michelle's famous "Power-Swing."
