This is a reverse psychology article about what to do if you are trying to get placed on academic probation at your college or university. In other words, don't follow these steps (do the opposite of what they suggest) if you actually want to succeed in college.

Step1
Do not seek out help from your professor, adviser, counselor, or another person, early on if you know you are struggling.
Step2
Do not study enough or do not study at all.
Step3
Have trouble managing your time and procrastinate.
Step4
Wait until the last minute to study.
Step5
Have a lack of motivation.
Step6
Don't be interested in your classes.
Step7
Let your job interfere with your studies.
Step8
Don't be prepared for the demands of college work.
Step9
Miss classes often or don't go to class at all.
Step10
Have difficulty prioritizing your work and deadlines.

Tips & Warnings

  • Warning: being placed on academic probation at your college or university is a serious event and may end up resulting in not making it all the way through to graduation.
