Acne is a common skin disease that causes pimples. Pimples form when hair follicles under your skin clog up. Anyone can get acne, but it is common in teenagers and young adults. It is not serious, but it can cause scars. Although, there isn't any proven cure, there are some very useful tips to reduce your acne at any age.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • willpower
  • great desire to get rid of acne
  • perseverence
Step1
The outside of your skin is the true reflection of your inside. You can 't expect to eat chocolate, burgers and drink alcoholic beverages and clean your skin. Proper food is the number one factor of having your body cleaner and having healthier skin. The lack of zinc, magnesium and vital vitamins in your diet makes your skin suffer. If you don't consume them with food, take supplements of 15mg of zinc and vitamins. Drink plenty of liquids, preferably water and tea. There is not anything better that Green Tea with Ginseng to purify your body. Avoid fast food, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. This will not only help to your skin, but your general health as well.
Step2
Clean your skin gently. Try to use products that are popular in the acne market, like Proactive or Murad. Apply the products as directed. Find how they act on you. Different types of skin have different results. Find the best outside product for you. Combine it with the proper diet. Try not to touch your skin.
Step3
Avoid the sun and do not use tanning booths or sun lamps. Tanning increases one’s risk of developing melanoma and other skin cancers. Additionally, some acne treatments can increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight and ultraviolet light from tanning booths and sun lamps. If you have acne, it is important to protect your skin by following sun-protection practices, such as wearing sunscreen and avoiding sunburns.
Step4
Avoid aggravating your acne, do not pop, squeeze or pick at it. This can make acne worse by spreading inflammation. With medical treatment, removing lesions is rarely necessary; however, when comedo removal is needed, it should be performed by an experienced health care professional.
Step5
Some of the more advanced methods of curing your acne are by using Laser and light therapy. Exposing the skin to a low-intensity blue light source is believed to destroy P. acnes. This painless procedure is usually done through a series of sessions. P. acnes multiplies rapidly, however, so ongoing treatment is necessary for best results. Also if you use pulsed light and heat energy together is thought to destroy P. acnes and shrink sebaceous glands, which decreases the oil production. Diode lasers on another hand can destroy sebaceous glands in the dermis, the thick middle layer of skin, without harming the outer layer of skin. Laser treatment may be painful, but the pain can be controlled with analgesics applied to the skin before treatment
Step6
Cosmetic procedure is another way to decrease your acne. Chemical peels and Microdermabrasion are two types of treatment performed by cosmetologists and help to exfoliate and unclog pores.
Step7
Many doctors prefer combination therapies like retinoids and oral antibiotics. Retinoids (Vitamin A) work by promoting cell turnover and preventing the plugging of the hair follicle. Oral antibiotics kill P. acnes bacteria and reduce inflammation.
Step8
Another acne curing method is by using benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics. Benzoyl peroxide is most effective if it's combined with antibiotics applied to your skin (topical antibiotics). Benzoyl peroxide can dry up the oil, kill bacteria and promote sloughing of dead skin cells. Topical antibiotics can kill bacteria on the skin's surface and fight inflammation.
Step9
As an end i will mention that acne at this time cannot be cured completely, it can only be controlled. And it all depends on you, your persistence and your willpower. You won't start seeing improvements from most treatments for six to eight weeks, and your acne might appear worse before it gets better. But if you stick to your treatment regimen, your patience usually pays off with clearer skin.
