Well the summer is right around the corner and allll I can think about is one thing, A FISH SANDWICH! Summer activites, this side of California are laced with intoxicating drinks, bbq's, fun filled club nights and......FISH FRY'S!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Fish fillets
  • Season All (McCormicks)
  • Garlic Powder
  • Black Pepper
  • Red Crushed Pepper Flakes
  • Corn Meal
  • Cooking Oil
  • Tartar Sauce
  • Buns or Rolls
Step1
Catfish Fillets First things first, get your fish fillets (whether it be cod, catfish, snapper, ect.) and wash them off real good. Make sure you wash both sides and leave slightly wet.
Step2
Take the top off all your seasonings and start with the Season All first. Get the garlic powder and proceed to do the same, same with black pepper, same with red crushed pepper. After done "adding' flavor" to that side, turn them over and do the same thing again. Put fillets to the side for now, or in the fridge if you're not ready to prepare it now.
Step3
Next thing is to get a pan and place oil in it. Use your own judgement when adding oil, not too much or not too little. Put on stove and cut on medium high.
Step4
While the oil is heating up, get a bag (grocery store bag or brown paper bag) and place some cornmeal in it. Proceed by taking your fillets and placing them in the bag full of cornmeal before shaking them around. Make sure to coat the whole fish with the corn meal.
Step5
When oil is hot, place fillets in pan carefully so you don't get oil splashing back on you. Fry on one side until golden brown, before flipping over.
Step6
While fillets are cooking, get your bun or roll and place tartar sauce on both sides of the bread (or one side if you're not a big fan of tartar sauce)
Step7
Place fillets on a couple paper towels when they come out of the oil, as it will drain off the excess grease. Next get your fillet and place it on your bun/roll and that's all to it!

Tips & Warnings

  • You can add other things such as lettuce, tomatoes or onions if you prefer
  • If fillets are thick, you may want to punch holes with your fork to make sure they cook all the way thru.
  • It's also good to try with fries, brings back that feeling of "Fish n Chips"
  • People may try to take your sandwich after trying it so "No Taste Testers"
