How to Recycle Egg Shells

Don't throw those egg shells away. They are very useful in the garden and they help your houseplants, too.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Egg shells
  • Pin or needle
  1. Step 1

    Rinse the egg shell and let it dry.

  2. Step 2

    Crush up the shells and mix them into your houseplants' soil. The eggs with decompose and add lime to the soil.

  3. Step 3

    Or, use a pin or a needle to put a small drain hole in the base of the egg shell half.

  4. Step 4

    Save the egg shell half and use it for a mini planter to start vegetable or flower seedlings indoors.

  5. Step 5

    When you're ready to plant the seedlings, gently crush the egg shell and plant it along with the seedling.
