Save the Polar Bears

Polar Bear's numbers are diminishing. This is due in part to global warming. The following information is available to help you become educated on the subject as well as to find ways to contribute to the cause.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Support the NRDC. The NRDC is the National Resources Defense Council. They have submitted a bill called the Kerry bill (S.2568) that will ban all oil and gas exploration activities in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas until the polar bears are protected. The bill can be seen at this URL:

  2. Step 2

Contact the Secretary of the Interior. By May 15th, the Bush administrations have to decide if Polar Bears should be placed on the endangered species list.
