Whether you do the circular exercises, cycle stretches or any other yoga workout for back-pain, it’s important to relax your spine afterwards. Your back is vulnerable right now, so this is a good way to transition from the back-pain exercise to your next activity. Here’s how to relax after a yoga back-pain workout.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Lie down flat on your stomach with your legs stretched out straight behind you.

  2. Step 2

Prop yourself up on your elbows. Make loose fists, your thumbs outside of your hands and place the heels of your hands under your chin so that your curled fingers are touching your cheeks.

  3. Step 3

Let your head rest on your hands, so that your elbows are absorbing the weight of your upper body.

  4. Step 4

Stay in this position for a few moments, feeling your spine and lower back relax.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always breathe through your nose when you relax after a yoga back-pain workout. This not only warms the air to body temperature, but also helps promote deeper, longer breathing.
