Things You'll Need:
- Mac OS X (include Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard)
- At least 512M physical RAM.
- 1G Hz Intel or PowerPC processor,or above
- DVD-ROM.
- 1024 x 768 resolution display or higher
-
Step 1
Confirm that your computer meets the system requirements for iSkysoft DVD to PSP Converter for Mac. The program is compatible with Mac OS X, including Leopard, and needs at least 512 MB of RAM. You'll also need a DVD drive, a display resolution of at least 1024 x 768 and an Intel or PowerPC processor of 1 GHz or higher.
-
Step 2
Download and install the iSkysoft DVD ripper for Macintosh OS X (see Resources below). Be sure to download the correct version for your processor (PowerPC or Intel).
-
Step 3
Insert the DVD you wish to rip into your DVD drive.
-
Step 4
Start the iSkysoft DVD Ripper software and click on the Load DVD button. In the file dialog, select the VIDEO_TS folder on your DVD drive and click OK.
-
Step 5
Choose the titles and chapters you wish to rip by checking the box next to each one. If you are going to convert just a portion of this DVD, you can skip this step.
-
Step 6
Pay attention to subtitles. Many movies have subtitles, so if the movie is not in your native language choose the right one now. Even if the movie is in your native language, portions of it may still require subtitles. If so, there will be an option for this in the Subtitle dropdown.
-
Step 7
Pick an audio track. Some movies may have additional audio tracks from which to choose. The movie may be in several languages or have director commentary tracks. Choose the language you wish to encode from the Language dropdown.
-
Step 8
Select the encoder format. This is a crucial step for getting the ripped DVD movies to work with your mobile devices. Select the appropriate setting for your device from the Format dropdown. If the movie will be watched on the OS X computer itself, choose one of the high-resolution formats such as Apple TV MPEG-4 or AVI with Xvid.
-
Step 9
Fine-tune audio and video encoder settings. If you wish to, you can define the exact resolution and bitrate of the audio and video encoders by clicking on the Settings button. For most uses, the default formats will acceptable. Don't change these settings if you are unsure of what they do, they could make the encoded video not play on your video device.
-
Step 10
Click the "Merge into one file" checkbox if you wish to merge all titles and chapters into a single output file.
-
Step 11
Click the Start button to start the conversion. This process will take time, be patient. It will take less time on a computer with a faster processor.
-
Step 12
Copy the ripped DVD video file to your video device.
