How to Use Aimersoft Dvd to iPhone Converter

Aimersoft DVD to iPhone Converter is a program that converts DVDs to MP4, MPEG-4 or H.264 files for the iPhone and gives you the ability to crop and customize. It can also rip DVD audio for the iPhone in a number of formats. It's simple to use, either for your iPhone or your iPod.

Things You’ll Need:

• Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003 or Windows Vista
• Intel Pentium 350MHz or higher
• any AMD Athlon
• at least 64MB of free RAM

1. Install Aimersoft DVD to iPhone Converter, if you haven't already done so. Double-click the installer file and follow the directions on screen to install the software.
2. Start Aimersoft DVD to iPhone Converter and click on the Load DVD button.
3. Select your DVD drive from the pop-up dialog and press the OK button.
4. Select the chapters you wish to convert. Most DVDs split a movie into a number of chapters and there are often bonus features on the disc that will show up as chapters. Select only the chapters you wish to encode to PSP video.
5. Crop the video. Depending on the DVD, the video may not be the same aspect ratio as the screen on your iPhone. If you wish the encoded video to take up the whole iPhone screen while playing, click the Crop button to choose a cropping mode. Choose your cropping options in the Crop dialog and press OK.
6. Select the video format the encoder should use. On the Format dropdown near the bottom of the dialog, select a pre-defined format for the encoder. For the iPhone, this setting should be iPhone Video MPEG-4. Other devices such as some iPods, and several Apple TV resolutions are also supported.
7. Enable subtitles. If the movie has any subtitles at all, select the subtitle track to use. Be sure to select this even if the movie is in your native language, there may be portions in another language that will need subtitles.
8. Select the audio track. Some DVDs will have multiple audio tracks primarily for different languages on the same disc surround sound encodings. Select the audio track that best suits your needs.
9. Click the Start button to start the encoding. The time the encoding process takes is dependent on your processor speed. A faster processor will encode videos more quickly than a slow one.
10. Open iTunes to copy the video file to your iPhone. From the File menu, import your encoded video file into your iTunes library.
11. Plug your iPhone into your computer and click on your iPhone in the left-side panel.
12. Click on Movies and select the movies you wish to copy to the iPhone.
13. Click on Apply to sync the movies to your iPhone.

Tips & Warnings

• A trial version of the software is available for free but will have restrictions. The full version can be purchased from the Aimersoft website either as an activation code for the trial version or as a CD (see Resources below).
• Note that cropping will always remove part of the frame, the top and bottom of the video will most likely be cut off.
