Are you working on an article or book and need the assistance of an expert but don’t know where to start? Don’t panic, the advice that follows is sure to help you find the right expert for that article or book you’re working on.

  • Phone book

Find Experts to Interview

Step1
Search online databases for experts on the subject you’re writing about. See Resources (below) for some online databases to get you started.
Step2
Search Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Google, local bookstores and other places for books related to your topic. Once you discover a title related to your topic, contact the author of that book.
Step3
Scan the yellow pages of your local phone book.
Step4
Search the Internet for websites and blogs related to the subject you’re writing about.By following the advice given above, you should be able to create a list of the experts you’re seeking. Good luck and best wishes!
Step5
Place an ad online stating the sort of expert that you need. Be sure to include qualifications needed, and state specifically what you need them for. Be as detailed as possible to avoid wasting your time or theirs.

Tips & Warnings

  • When contacting the experts, tell them what you need assistance with, state your deadline and ask them how they’d like to be credited if you quote them.
  • Never meet with someone in a private place. Always choose a public setting.
