How to Stimulate the Immune System With Acupuncture

  1. Step 1

Eat a well balanced diet before and after acupuncture. It is advised not to have an acupuncture treatment on an empty stomach. Also the food will give your body energy to restore itself.

  2. Step 2

Insert the needles into acupuncture points that activate the brain, spleen and other organs. This helps stimulate the cellular immune system, which protects the body against cancer and viruses inside of the body's cells. The needles stimulate the nervous system, which is how the brain communicates to other organs when it comes to producing T lymphocytes and macrophages that kill invaders.

  3. Step 3

Let the needles stay in the skin for 10 to 15 minutes. The needles will help stimulate the blood flow. Your blood contains B lymphocytes, which produce antibodies. When the blood is stimulated, more antibodies are flowing and protecting your body from viruses and bacteria.

  4. Step 4

Take herbs such as astragalus, ganoderma and cordyceps, which can work along with the acupuncture. Even supplemental vitamins like complex vitamin B (includes B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and B12) can help engage the immune system.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take a nap after your acupuncture treatment or at least refrain from vigorous physical activity.
  • If acupuncture and other natural remedies do not help, seek medical attention to determine if you have an autoimmune disorder.
