Exercising with a partner can be both fun and rewarding. Having the support of a partner who is working towards the same goal as you will help you to persevere in your quest for physical fitness! Consult your doctor before starting any exercise program.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Partner
  • Loose comfortable clothing
  • Athletic shoes

Step1
Dress properly. Do not wear clothing that is slippery, such as nylon and silk. A cotton shirt and cotton shorts or sweat pants are best for this type of exercise. You don't want to be sliding off your partner and possibly injure yourself in a fall. Wear good athletic shoes with some kind of grip on the bottom to prevent slipping.
Step2
Warm up. No exercises should be done without a proper warm-up. Muscles that are warmed-up are less likely to suffer from strains and injuries. Do some leg stretching exercises and some light calisthenics before hand.
Step3
Stand in front of your partner. You should both be facing in the opposite direction with your legs about shoulder length apart.
Step4
Lean your back onto your partner's back. Both of you should be leaning into each other. Get your balance before proceeding to the next step.
Step5
Count to three and at the same time, slowly squat down as far as you both can comfortably go. When you get into the squatting position, hold this position as long as possible. You might want to count out your squat starting at 10, 20, or 30 seconds. At the end of the squat, slowly stand back up again together using your backs as support.
Step6
Repeat the squat for as many repetitions as you can both comfortably do. Try to increase the length of time that you stay in the squat at each session.
