When you want to keep track of calories and choose the right foods for your diet, The Daily Plate website can help you maintain a food log and calculate nutritional information for almost any meal - all in a few clicks. The Daily Plate makes it easy to stick with your diet plan and look up food items that you might not have nutritional facts for. Here's how to gauge your calorie breakdown on The Daily Plate.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to The Daily Plate and register. Log into your account. Enter your Daily Plate username and password to access your profile.

  2. Step 2

Click on the MyPlate Calorie Counter tab. This is located on the top right of the home page. Point your cursor to the 'Charts' section.

  3. Step 3

Click on 'Calorie Breakdown.' This section will show you how many calories you have left to use for the day. This amount depends on your pre-calculated daily allotment, and makes it easy to subtract food you've eaten throughout the day.

  4. Step 4

Compare your results by day. Use the dropdown feature to get a snapshot of your calorie intake by day.

  5. Step 5

Print out your report. This can help you stay motivated and keep you on track for your customized diet.

  6. Step 6

Check in daily. Monitor your calorie breakdown on a daily basis so you can reach your weekly and monthly goals with ease!

Tips & Warnings
  • When you find yourself eating more than your daily allotment each day, start cutting back on your highest-calorie foods first so you can reach your goal.
  • Update your calories on a daily basis so you can monitor your progress over time.
  • Don't forget to keep track of your fat-carb-protein ratios in so you can optimize your nutrition program.
