One of the hardest rooms in your house to decorate with your wife is the bedroom. Your wife probably will have a very different concept for the bedroom than what you have in mind. As with anything of this nature, decorating the bedroom will be about compromise. Here is how to decorate a bedroom with your wife.

Step1

Paint the room in a neutral color. Decorating your bedroom will mostly be about the objects you place in the room. Therefore, you don't want the assortment of things that you place in the room to clash with the color found on the walls. Leaving your bedroom white, for example, may sound bland but it will give you plenty of options in the long run.

Step2

Place a small shelf or table on either side of the bed. Both you and your wife are going to want to place small personal items in your bedroom. A small shelf or table on both sides of the bed will allow you and your wife to do this without getting in each other's way.

Hang pictures of the two of you throughout the room. Regardless of what ideas you have for the bedroom, there is little chance that the two of you will not agree on this. Search for large picture frames or consider making a collage of pictures together and placing that on a wall in the room.

Consider how much time the two of you will be spending together in the bedroom when decorating the room. For example, determine if the two of you will watch TV in the bedroom together and do so often. If you plan to do this, put your bed and TV in a place where the two of you will be comfortable spending hours together enjoying a great movie.

Give your wife a corner or wall to decorate all her own and take one for yourself as well. This will allow the two of you to add your own personal creativity to the room. While a bedroom should be about you and your wife as a couple, it's still important to keep individuality.

Make concessions regarding the things that you truly don't care about. If you don't care about the color of your bedsheets, for example, let your wife pick them out. Don't turn decorating a bedroom with your wife into an argument if you don't need to do so.
