Things You'll Need:
- Shampoo and conditioner especially for gray hair.
- A deep weekly conditioner.
- Anti frizz product.
-
Step 1
Consult a colorist once your hair becomes about 50% gray as they can make the transition from multi colored hair much easier.
-
Step 2
Create a flattering balance with your gray hair. Everyone's hair grows differently, some grows in patchy, some coarse, and some does not complement your complexion. A colorist can help with this process too.
-
Step 3
Cut your hair as short as you possibly feel comfortable with to get rid of any old color. This will allow the grays to become more prominent in a more natural manner.
-
Step 4
Schedule regular maintenance with your colorist until the transition is fully complete. Gray hair lacks oils and has a tendency to yellow. This is why it is important to have help from a pro.
