These instructions explain how to send an eHow article shortcut to your computer desktop for easy access. For articles with a video, you can decide whether or not you want the video included with the desktop shortcut.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Desire to have a computer desktop shortcut to an eHow article

Step1
File-Send-Shortcut Menu To save a shortcut of the article’s webpage as it appears on the Internet, click File in the top menu bar, then click on Send from the drop-down, and then click on “Shortcut to Desktop.”
Step2
The shortcut will now be on your computer’s desktop where you can access it at any time as long as the computer is connected to the Internet. To open the article from your desktop, simply double click the desktop icon. Your shortcut icon will look like one of the icons shown in the introduction, with the name of the article appearing beneath the icon.
Step3
Print Article Link To save a desktop shortcut of JUST THE ARTICLE and no video if a video was included, click on the “Print Article” link located beneath the introduction and above Step 1 of the article. That will open a window of just the article, with no banners, video, or ads.
Step4
With just the article appearing, perform Step 1 to save the shortcut to your desktop. Perform Step 2 to access the article from your desktop.
