How to Sort Laundry

If you've never been shown the proper way to sort laundry, Here is your chance to learn!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Dirty Laundry
• Laundry baskets

1. Gather all the dirty laundry in the house in a pile. You will need some room to sort laundry if you have a lot of dirty clothes. This will save you lots of time in sorting laundry at the washing machine.

2. You will need several laundry baskets for sorting laundry. You can always use the floor to sort if you have to while you separate it.

3. 
   Color Sorting : Towels, Darks, Lights

   You will be sorting laundry according to the color, meaning darks, lights, whites and also according to the fabric as in towels and sheets. All light colored fabrics are sorted separate from the dark colored ones. The whites will be bleached most of the time, so they are separated also. The towels all go together and the sheets by themselves. The fine washables go separately in a netted bag, separating the light and dark too.

Tips & Warnings

• Sorting laundry can prolong life of the fabric. For instance, putting Jeans with your light colored blouses or shirts can put unwanted wear and tear on the fabric. Delicate items will not last long if you don't wash them more carefully than other fabrics.
• If your not sure about a fabrics washing instructions, Read the label.
• Washing garments properly will prolong the life of the garment.
