Elvis Presley loved to fry up a bunch of peanut butter and banana sandwiches when he was at home. It was one of his favorite foods when he was relaxing. In this recipe, I want to teach you a new way to eat bananas wrapped in a spring roll and ‘deep-fried’ for a crunchy, munchy, delicious change from the regular ice cream cone. I know, you normally don’t think ‘cone’ with a banana split, but this is a real honey of a deal and a bag of ‘crunch’. It comes with all the trimmings of the banana split of course. If you want to ‘crunch it up’ a bit, just get the deep fryer going on the stove and follow this recipe through until it’s a ‘wrap’.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bananas
  • Spring Roll Pastry wraps
  • Vegetable Oil
  • 1 egg
  • Whip Cream
  • Favorite fruits
  • Ice cream
  • Honey
  1. Step 1

Break an egg into a bowl and beat with a fork until its liquid.
Split the Banana in half lengthwise, Wrap each piece with a square of the Pastry wrap.

  2. Step 2

Wrap banana pieces in ‘envelope’ style. That is ( bottom folds over top of banana, then the sides over the bottom, and the top folds over the sides and sticks to the bottom to hold them all together ( use the egg dip as a gluing agent ). To make the wrapper stick together when you wrap the banana, spread a little egg dip on the edge of the wrapper.

  3. Step 3

Pour oil into a deep pan and pre heat to 385 degrees or hot enough for deep frying.
Dip the wrapped banana into the hot oil and fry momentarily, until they are lightly golden. Watch carefully to avoid burning.

  4. Step 4

Lay the banana rolls onto a plate and drizzle honey or chocolate syrup on them.

To make Rock , cut a few extra spring roll sheet in small pices and fry them for garnish

Serve with Ice cream topped with Whipped Cream. It’s just like a fried banana split with a fried cone crunch added.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the pastry wraps in a cool moist place or refrigerate. If they dry too quickly it is hard to wrap with them.
