Do you know how to choose the best neckline for your face? If chosen wisely, the right neckline can make your neck look longer and slimmer and your face more attractive. Here are your options.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    The scoop neck.

This style tends to broaden the shoulder area so it's ideal for women with narrow shoulders. A low scooped neck can help to elongate the neck and is an excellent choice for women with short, wide necks. Scoop necks also help to hide a large bust line.

  2. Step 2

    Crewneck.

This style can make the neck look short and thick unless the scoop on the crewneck is deeper. It's best to avoid this style if you have a round face or a double chin. Persons with long, slender necks tend to look good in this style.

  3. Step 3

    Boatneck.

This is another style that should be avoided if you have a double chin or a short neck. It can be flattering to thin women with narrow shoulders, especially if worn with small shoulder pads. It can give the illusion of larger breasts.

  4. Step 4

    V-neck.

This style is flattering on most faces and necks. If you wear a deep v-neck style, it tends to elongate the neck and draw attention away from a double chin. A thinner person with narrow shoulders should choose a more shallow v-neck to give the illusion of broader shoulders.

  5. Step 5

    Strapless.

This style tends to flatter women with smaller busts and wider shoulders. It gives the illusion of a longer neck.

Tips & Warnings
  • As a generalization, women with shorter, thicker necks should wear deeper cut necklines that expose more skin. Higher cut necklines look best on women with longer necks and strong jaw lines.
