Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Working phone
- Number to your credit card company
- Pen
- Paper
Step1
Contact your credit card company and report your card as stolen. Inform them about the situation and the day you found out it was missing.
Step2
Check your home owner's policy to see if you are insured for your credit card. If you are then that means you have liability for these situations. However, your liability is also affected by the time that you have reported it stolen beforehand.
Step3
Ask for your billing statements and review them carefully for charges that you have not made on the card. If there are some, report it to your card issuer.
Step4
Wait about one to two days and check your billing statement to see if any other unauthorized charges are made. If so, then call your card issuer and tell them that the problem is still there.
