Halfway through.

This article, will show you how to simply change your guitar neck, on an electric guitar, Stratocaster or Telecaster. [This refers to bolt-on necks]

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A phillips head screwdriver.
  1. Step 1

**This is very simple and will take no time at all.**

Firstly remove the strings on your guitar, being careful not to snap them. This can be avoided by detuning the to the point where the strings can unravel off.

  2. Step 2

Turn your guitar over and you will be able to see a small silver plate. Remove the screws securing this plate. [Stratocaster: will have 4 screws. Telecaster: will have 3 screws.] Your old and worn out neck should now easily slide out.

  3. Step 3

Slide your new neck onto the body of the guitar, and replace the screws and back silver plate. You will then need to restring your guitar, leaving you ready to rock and roll!

Tips & Warnings
  • A Stratocaster neck will fit onto a Telecaster body, but will leave gaps unless the neck is 22 frets.
  • A Telecaster neck will not fit onto a Stratocaster body, without modifications to the bodies original woodwork.
