To get around in a worksheet, you can just click your mouse to select a cell. But there are also keyboard buttons to jump you to a specific location.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
To move the active cell: One cell left, right, up, down
Press this key or key combination: Use the arrow keys
Step2
To move the active cell: Down or right one cell
Press this key combination: Enter or Tab, respectively
Step3
To move the active cell: One screen up, down
Press this key combination: Page Up, Page Down, or Click below above the scroll box on the vertical scroll bar (or below the scroll box, depending on where you are in the worksheet)
Step4
To move the active cell: One screen left, right
Press this key combination: Alt-Page Up, Alt-Page Down, or click right of the scroll box on the horizontal scroll bar (or left of the scroll box, depending on where you are in the worksheet)
Step5
To move the active cell: Top or bottom of data region
Press this key combination: Ctrl-up arrow key, Ctrl-down arrow key
Step6
To move the active cell: Left or right edge of data region
Press this key combination: Ctrl-left arrow key, Ctrl-right arrow key
Step7
To move the active cell: First or last cell of worksheet
Press this key combination: Ctrl-Home or Ctrl-End
Step8
To move the active cell: Beginning of current row
Press this key combination: Home
Step9
To move the active cell: Last active cell of current row
Press this key combination: End Enter
Step10
To move the active cell: Last active cell in direction
Press this key combination: End directional arrow
Step11
To move the active cell: Last active cell of block
Press this key combination: End Home
Step12
To move the active cell: To a specific cell
Press this key combination: F5 or Ctrl G Displays the “Go To” dialogue box, where you can enter the cell ID in the “Reference” box. A history of jump-to locations will be retained in the “Go to” box while the file remains open.
