How to Flea Control

I tried flea bombs and scattering flea powder around my house. The flea products were very expensive and the Prep to use them was time consuming. They were smelly too, and repeated usage resulted in no fewer fleas: it did not work.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Borax powder
  • large spoon
  • vacuum cleaner
  • salt (optional)
Step1
Vaccum house.
Step2
Open box of Borax powder.Place in large bowl. Add a handfull of salt if you wish.Stir. Omit salt for use on carpets.
Step3
Using spoon, sprinkle Borax on floors, enough so there is a fine coating on floor. Be sure to sprinkle under furniture and under cushions as well.
Step4
Leave on floor for a few days. Vacuum up and throw away the vacuum bag. Your home should be flea free. It is wise to leave some borax under furniture if you don't usually vacuum these areas, and some under furniture cushions as fleas love these places.
Step5
Some times if you hit the flea cycle wrong you may have to repeat the above steps. In my case it was not necessary and we have been flea free for two years.

Tips & Warnings

  • Borax is safe and relatively non-toxic, but don't let your pets lick it off their paws.
